About the Minister:
Dave began his pulpit ministry at Lakewood Village in 2012 after the death of Curtis Ramey who had occupied the pulpit for twelve years. Dave was the Senior Adult minister at the CrossPoint Church of Christ for nine years before accepting this ministry.
Dave studied gerontology at ACU under Dr. Bruce Davis in 1990 and has been a presenter for IMPACT, an annual event for Lubbock Christian University for senior adults on more than one occasion. David and Pat Malone offered the first Senior Adult Conference for senior adults and congregations in Tarrant County in February 2000 featuring Dr. James Knapp who wrote The Graying of the Flock. Dave has presented lectures on dealing with loss and change as a Senior Adult and lead grief support groups. Dave has earned three degrees from Abilene Christian University: Bachelor of Arts in Bible in 1959, Master of Arts in the Doctrinal Field of Bible in 1963, and the Doctor of Ministry Degree in Marriage and Family in 1992.
Dave has been a pulpit minister for congregations in Burleson, TX, La Mesa, CA, Shreveport, La,. He was the associate minister and Small Group director for the Prestoncrest Church of Christ and often preached from 1993 to 2001 for Dr. Prentice Meador. He was a youth minister for the Southside Church of Christ in Austin, TX and a campus minister for the University Ave. Church of Christ from 1965 through June, 1970, prior to his move to CA to preach for eleven years.
Dave and his wife, Ann Holland Malone, married in Fort Worth in 1957 and are parents of three children and four grandchildren Their first child, Lisa, lives with them at 121 Flyaway Lane just minutes from the campus near Loop 820 just north of Randol Mill Rd. Their son, Tiny, lives in Baton Rouge, LA and leads singing for the Southern Hills congregation in Shreveport, LA where Dave preached in the ‘80’s. Their other daughter, Gigi Anthony, lives in Burlingame, CA with her husband, Guy and their daughter, Gracie.
