You already have the special skills needed to volunteer at Christian Care Hospice. The greatest gift you can offer is your time, your caring nature, and your willingness to listen. Training and ongoing support are provided to all volunteers, so experience is not required. It is a great opportunity to learn new skills and enhance existing ones.
Who benefits from your help? Your neighbors, their families, your friends, your loved ones, people of every age, ethnic background, and socioeconomic level will benefit from your generous gift of time. If you are bilingual, your services will provide an extra measure of comfort and ease.
What Kinds of Things Do Volunteers Do?
Volunteers are an important part of our team of nurses, social workers, and chaplains who provide compassionate care for our hospice patients and help to ease the stress and exhaustion their families deal with.
You can provide family members with a much needed break for a few hours each week. You might run errands, write letters, provide companionship, read to patients, or just listen to the stories of these people’s lives. Other volunteer opportunities to choose from include therapeutic massage, bereavement support, special events, community outreach and office assistance.
